Who we are

Atlas of Flavors is an editorial archive of world recipes. This notice explains what information we collect from readers and contributors, why we collect it, and how it's protected. For questions, write to us via the contact form.

Information we collect

  • Account information. When you sign up we store your email address, display name, and (optionally) a profile photo and short bio.
  • Contributions. Recipes, blog posts, ratings and reviews you publish are stored against your account and are public by design.
  • Contact messages. Messages sent through the contact form (name, email, subject, body) are stored so the editors can read and respond.
  • Newsletter subscriptions. If you subscribe, we keep your email address solely to send the weekly newsletter.
  • Technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, request paths) are kept short-term to protect the site against abuse.

How we use your information

  • To operate your account and let you publish or review content.
  • To respond to messages you send through the contact form.
  • To deliver the weekly newsletter, only if you opted in.
  • To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud or abuse.

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertisers.

Verified reviews

To keep reviews honest, we only accept reviews from accounts whose email address has been verified. Your display name appears with each review; your email address does not.

Cookies & sessions

We use a single, essential session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Data storage

Data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure (Lovable Cloud, powered by Supabase). Access is restricted by Row Level Security policies so that only you (and, where relevant, the editors) can see your private information. Backups are encrypted in transit and at rest.

Your rights

  • Edit or delete your profile, recipes, and posts at any time from your dashboard.
  • Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in each email.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing the editors.
  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Children

Atlas of Flavors is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this notice

If we materially change how we handle data, we'll update this page and, where appropriate, notify subscribers by email.
